Tea and...Fruit??

Originally my entry for a Fruit-themed contest being held by but sadly it had to be cancelled. I'm uploading this anyway because I spent too much time on it not to. :]

I was originally going to make a dress that I had designed ages ago (with the help of a friend whose original design for a top I based it off) which was green with a bell-shaped hem and watermelon shaped applique on the bust, but I didn't think I would have the time. Also I went into the shop to buy the fabric today and I just didn't really understand what the pattern was telling me. Luckily I had had the idea for these IN A DREAM (how weird is that?) and thought they'd fit the theme.

In case you can't tell, they are biscuits! Made from the best biscuit recipe I have ever found, but with boiled sweets melted into the cut out shapes for added effect.
I've always loved translucency of fruit so I thought it would be cool.
I'd love to say the boiled sweet flavours correspond with the fruits but they don't... the orange and lemon ones do, and so does the strawberry one, but the kiwi is lemon&lime and the watermelons are a bizarre mixture of strawberry and other...pink stuff. The bananas taste like vanilla.

So yeah...
This was a lot of fun even though the contest is cancelled. :]
